DRESS CODE (3303)
Saint’s Peter and Paul Catholic School values and needs the support of parents in cooperating and ensuring compliance with the dress code and grooming guidelines. Saint’s Peter and Paul Catholic School considers modesty, neatness, and pride in one’s appearance as both essential for the students’ learning environment as well as important for our children’s future.
All students at Saint’s Peter & Paul Catholic School are required to wear the uniform adopted by the School from the first day of school until the last day of school unless that student is participating in a School sanctioned Spirit Dress or Free Dress day. A student’s uniform is to fit properly, be clean, pressed and in good repair. Faded or torn uniform items are to be replaced.
Although every faculty and staff member is charged with enforcing the uniform code, it is primarily the responsibility of the parents to make sure that their students are properly dressed. Students are expected to follow the dress code expectations of their biological sex throughout the school day and during all school events, which include, but are not limited to, athletics, extracurricular, and social activities. The dress code which follows will be enforced by the administration, faculty, and staff.
Because uniforms look alike, all articles of clothing should be marked with the student’s name--preferably with “sew-in” labels as ink markings eventually wash out.

OUTERWEAR:
Students may purchase a Saint’s Peter & Paul Catholic School black polar fleece jacket or grey sweater through Flynn O’Hara. The school polar fleece jacket or sweater may be worn in classrooms. Other jackets may be worn before or after school and during recess but are not to be worn in the hallway, classrooms, or Mass.
Personal Appearance:
High standards in dress and personal grooming are important in creating a positive and favorable image of the student body and should reflect the spirit of the uniform code. Students not meeting dress code or personal appearance standards are subject to the following:
1) Verbal warning.
2) Uniform violation write-up in RenWeb.
3) Demerit.
Repeat occurrences after demerit will follow behavioral consequences as outlines in Section IX.
Students may wear shoes other than those specified in the guidelines above on these days. Students may not wear: Sandals, flip-flops, crocs, HEYDUDE, and shoes with wheels.
Any student found to be inappropriately dressed will have his or her parents or guardian called to bring appropriate clothing to the School or to take the student home resulting in an unexcused absence for that day. The student will remain in a supervised designated area until the issue is resolved. The student also risks the ability to participate in future Free Dress Days. The $1.00 paid will not be returned.
Free Dress Days are considered an earned privilege and are subject to being revoked at the discretion of the Principal at any time.
Spirit Dress Days:
Spirit Dress Days will take place on the first Friday of each month as listed on Free Dress/Spirit Dress Calendar set forth herein. On these days, students are allowed to wear Saint’s Peter & Paul Catholic School t-shirts with their uniform bottoms and uniform shoes. All other uniform guidelines shall be followed.
Changing Clothing After School
Saint’s Peter & Paul students represent our community at all times and especially when in uniform. Students should arrive at and leave from school wearing the required (full) uniform. Students in the sports program are permitted to change out of their uniform for sports practice and competitions. Students in the After School Program must remain in full uniform otherwise.
Special Circumstances
Students participating in school-related activities, such as extracurricular, PSIA activities or other special functions, may have a different dress or grooming code required by the sponsor, coach, or administration. If such occurrence happens, the faculty member responsible is asked to notify the administration and teachers in advance.
Enforcement of School Dress Code
Teachers are expected to enforce the student dress code of Saint’s Peter and Paul Catholic School. Failing to meet the dress code standard is a Level 1 behavior event and is to be entered under Behavior in RebWeb for the child involved. Repeated violations will increase this to a Level 2 violation and will require administration involvement.
Lost and Found
Items that are found are brought to the glassed- in porch area. When a child's name is in the item, it is returned to the child. If a lost article is not in the glassed-in porch area, please check the child's classroom(s), playground, front office or the After-School Care rooms. Items that are left in the lost and found for more than a week after each semester ends will be donated to the Thrift Store, the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School Uniform Exchange, or discarded.
