SPIRITUAL LIFE
Religious Studies
Catholic education is a gift that the Catholic community and parents give to children during their formative years. At Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School, we teach virtues and values, respect for the environment, and reverence for all of God's creation. We seek truth and stand witness to truth. We strive to be good citizens of this country and to be bold and passionate disciples of God's kingdom. We offer excellence rooted in Jesus Christ. The Religious Studies program serves a multifaceted mission: to teach the message of Jesus, to nurture a personal relationship with God, to provide an understanding of our Catholic faith and its traditions, and to build community. Through instruction in Catholic doctrine and scripture, regular participation in the Catholic liturgical experiences, and most importantly with family support, this mission is carried out.
The specific objectives of our religious studies are:
Message: Through the light of instruction in the basic doctrine of our Catholic faith, the study of sacred scripture, the sacramental life and the moral life, we deepen our awareness and knowledge of who God is.
Community: Through interaction in a loving, worshiping community, we are led to a greater awareness of how God acts in our lives and we are helped to deepen and strengthen our relationship with God and one another.
Service: Through involvement in acts of loving service to one another and the community, we strive to imitate the actions of Jesus, the early Christian community, the saints and the contemporary Christian leaders.
Liturgy
Students at St. Peter & Paul Catholic School attend liturgy once a week. Parents and family are welcome to attend these services with their child/children.
Sacramental Preparation

Students are prepared for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in second grade. More specific information is given to students preparing to receive the sacraments throughout the school year.
Retreats
Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School sponsors a retreat for the School of Logic during the school year. In addition, the Parish Youth Ministry Office also plans retreats that expand understanding of our faith and these retreats are open to all students for whom the retreat is age-appropriate.
Buddy Program
Through homeroom/advisory teachers, upper-grade students are paired with lower-grade students in a “buddy” program. The purpose is to form a bond of Christian friendship and academic support. Classes generally meet on the first Friday of each month and at various other times.

Facilities
Our school grounds comprise three buildings:
The main building houses the majority of our classrooms, music/choir, and the athletic facilities.
The St. Joseph Center is one of our newer facilities and houses our cafeteria and the middle school classrooms.
The Good Shepherd Center is our administrative center, which serves as the main entrance to our school, but it also houses our library, technology and art classrooms.
We share our campus with Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the parish Thrift Store.
We have an on-site cafeteria that offers several daily lunch choices. A snack bar, with milk and juice, is also available.
Additional Educational Opportunities
In addition to a strong academic and religious base, our students participate in art, music, Spanish language, technology and physical education instruction. A strong extracurricular sports program helps build good-sportsmanship skills as well as develops a clear understand of the importance of teamwork. For those girls who choose, our Pep Squad and Pantherettes provide support for our sports program at many events, including on-campus pep rallies.

An on-site extended-care program is available (for an additional cost) after school for students attending Sts. Peter & Paul. The program is available from 3:45–6 p.m. each school day except on Early Release Days. For more information, contact the school office.
